But the journey is not ending there, Leeds is going from good to great!

We have firmly embedded a culture of learning and improvement into our strategic and operational outlook. We have improved our offer to social workers by developing a clear and exciting career pathway within the organisation. As noted by Ofsted “Leeds has placed a considerable emphasis on creating an environment where good quality social work can flourish.’ Whether you are a NQSW or an experienced social worker looking for a new challenge; our professional development strategies offer you a chance to be part of something truly stimulating, the pursuit of excellence.

We are determined that all children in Leeds enjoy good outcomes and our commitment to become a ‘Child Friendly’ City has placed children at the heart of all we do and brought the whole city together behind our ambition. This has been driven in Leeds by the ‘outstanding, inspirational and confident operational and political leadership’ Ofsted.

‘A unique investment and commitment to Restorative Practices is having a transformational impact on culture and  to professional practice across both the social work service and the Children’s Partnership.’ Ofsted

We have made significant improvements to Children’s Services.  One of the changes we have made is how we have embedded restorative practice and family group conferencing into our approach to social care, working with families to achieve better outcomes. This commitment to innovation as a regional leader has been rewarded by a £5million funding stream from the Innovation Council.

The funding will be used to strengthen our capacity to deliver high quality services in restorative practice and family group conferences. We have clear pathways of progression for all social work practitioners and our roles give us the opportunity to promote and celebrate the very best of social work practice.
